When the mind is silent like a lake the lotus blossoms.

These paintings are inspired by a visit to the Lotus Pond in the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney, Australia. In Summer the pond is often full of blooms, but on this day, there was only one lotus flower in the whole pond, standing proud and alone. The lotus flower is revered in many cultures for its spiritual qualities including purity, grace and wisdom and I named each painting based on these symbols.
